Experience:
I taught ballet to a preschooler with Down's Syndrome. It was certainly a challenge at times, but very rewarding!
I am also studying psychology in university, and have recently spent a semester studying Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Neither of these situations gave me excessive experience in caring for individuals with special needs, but it did give me experience in interacting and socializing.
I was an occasional babysitter for two girls with diabetes, and was responsible for testing/tracking blood sugar and overseeing insulin injections.
